MARI Mandala, Art & Sacred Ritual

Mandala
“The “squaring of the circle” is one of the many archetypal motifs which form the basic patterns of our dreams and fantasies. But it is distinguished by the fact that it is one of the most important of them from the functional point of view. Indeed, it could even be called the archetype of wholeness…

Mandalas are circular drawings that, when intuitively created by you, reveal your relationship to yourself and to the world. They can be used to discern where you are in your growth process. As a certified MARI practitioner, in initial sessions I often work through the MARI Mandala Assessment – an elegantly simple tool. From 39 symbol cards, you choose six that are instinctively desirable, and one that you don’t like. Then you select the appropriate colors from a broad spectrum.

The conversation begins as I set your seven cards in their proper place on the “Great Round”, a 13-segment diagram representing stages in the human life. When completed, we have a Mandala representing your inner knowledge. Often simply seeing your current state of mind in symbolic terms is a catalyst for change, an empowering ritual symbol for healing. This process is strengthened by our dialogue, which clarifies issues and sets the direction of future exploration. For in-depth information, please visit the official MARI site .

Art & Sacred Ritual

Art created with intention is an object of power – regardless of your perceived level of proficiency. The ritual of creation is a work of art.

In times of transition, ritual restores a sense of the sacred to us personally and to our relationship with the world. Even a simple action performed with focus can become a ritual. It can be used to celebrate, commemorate, invoke or sanctify.

If you are approaching a turning point – embarking on a new path, transitioning at midlife, memorializing the passing of a loved one, beginning an important new project or seeking higher guidance – I will work with you to create a meaningful ceremony that resonates for you personally. The framework will be your own art, music, symbols or special land-place. Scheduled at an auspicious time, this ritual will act first as a conduit for your passage, then as a memorial to it.

Helene is a gifted leader in her ability to create a safe, inviting, and welcoming space for inner exploration. I had never done a dream ceremony before, but I felt a high level of trust that it would be useful in my life and a positive experience. Helene made it possible for it to be both. I gained some valuable insights into my life situation and left with a strong feeling of being supported by the other women in the circle. The ceremonial experience brought to light the powerful connections we have to one another and the healing that comes with community.
